Terms of Service
Last updated: March 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CookedFor ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
CookedFor connects customers with local home chefs. The Platform facilitates ordering, payment, and communication between customers and chefs. CookedFor is not a restaurant, food manufacturer, or delivery service — chefs operate independently.
3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
4. Orders and Payments
- Online payments are processed securely through Stripe. CookedFor does not store your card details.
- Cash payments are arranged directly between you and the chef at the time of pickup or delivery.
- CookedFor charges a 5% platform fee on each order, deducted from chef earnings. Customers pay no platform fees. Chefs may set optional delivery fees for local delivery orders.
- Orders are confirmed once payment is received (online) or accepted by the chef (cash).
5. Cancellations
Customers may cancel orders that are in "Pending" or "Awaiting Payment" status. Once a chef has confirmed or begun preparing an order, cancellation is at the chef's discretion. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.
6. Chef Responsibilities
Chefs are independent operators and are responsible for food safety, accurate menu descriptions, and timely fulfillment. Chefs must comply with all applicable local food safety and home kitchen regulations.
7. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information, noting any allergies or dietary restrictions, and being available for pickup or delivery at the agreed time.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Submit false reviews or fraudulent orders
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform's payment system
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without permission
9. Limitation of Liability
CookedFor facilitates connections between customers and chefs but does not guarantee the quality, safety, or timeliness of any food or service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookedFor is not liable for any damages arising from the use of the Platform.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or Platform notification.
