Refund Policy

Overview

CookedFor connects customers with local home chefs. This refund policy outlines when and how refunds are handled for orders placed through the Platform.

Online Payments (Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay)

Customer-Initiated Cancellations

• Before chef confirms:Orders in "Pending" status can be cancelled by the customer. A full refund is automatically issued to your original payment method.
• After chef confirms: Once a chef has confirmed or begun preparing your order, you cannot cancel directly. Contact the chef through the order messaging feature to request a cancellation.

Chef-Initiated Refunds

Chefs can issue a full refund at any point before delivery. Common reasons include:

• Ingredient unavailability
• Inability to fulfill the order on time
• Order errors
• Customer request (at chef's discretion)

When a chef issues a refund, the full amount is returned to your original payment method. Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days depending on your bank.

Abandoned Checkout

If you start the checkout process but do not complete payment, no charge is made. The pending order is automatically cancelled after 1 hour.

Cash Payments

• Before cash is exchanged: Either party can cancel without any refund needed since no payment was made.
• After cash is received: If the chef has confirmed receipt of cash and a refund is warranted, the chef will arrange a cash refund directly with the customer. The order will be marked as cancelled on the Platform.

Disputes

If you have an issue with an order that hasn't been resolved with the chef, contact us at support@cookedfor.com. We will review the situation and work with both parties to reach a fair resolution.

No Partial Refunds

At this time, refunds are issued for the full order amount only. Partial refunds for individual items are not supported through the Platform. Chefs and customers may arrange partial refunds independently.
