At CookedFor, your privacy matters. We collect only what we need to run the Platform, we never sell your data, and we are transparent about how your information is used.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, phone number (optional), date of birth (optional), and location (city, state, zip code).
  • Chef profile information: Bio, cuisine tags, location, and menu/meal details including photos.
  • Order information: Items ordered, delivery preferences, order notes, and messages exchanged with chefs.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Platform.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. CookedFor does not store, process, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment data.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and maintain the Platform
  • To process orders and facilitate communication between customers and chefs
  • To send order confirmations and status updates
  • To improve the Platform based on usage patterns
  • To respond to support requests
  • To prevent fraud and ensure Platform security

What We Do NOT Do

  • We do not sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Ever.
  • We do not share your data for advertising purposes. We do not run ads or share your information with ad networks.
  • We do not use your data for profiling or targeted advertising.

Who We Share Data With

We share information only when necessary to operate the Platform:

  • Chefs and customers: Order details, delivery information, and messages are shared between the parties involved in an order.
  • Stripe: Payment processing only. See their privacy policy linked above.
  • Vercel: Hosting provider. They process requests but do not access your data.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Data Retention

We retain your account and order data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (e.g., financial transaction records).

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
